Monofilament Fishing Line
Monofilament fishing line has been and may still be the standard fishing line even today. One of the main characteristics of Mono line is that it will stretch which has a couple of advantages.
1. It gives when setting the hook preventing the angler from pulling the bait away from the fish. This same principle applies whether using a glass rod or a graphite rod for crank baits.
2. The stretch also helps keep the fish from ripping the hook out when fighting against the stiff rod.
